1. Apply modern integrated techniques for mineral exploration using geological, remote sensing, GIS, geochemical and geophysical data.
Objectifs d'apprentissage:
1. Explain the phases of mineral exploration from prospecting to production.
2. Identify and describe ore-forming processes and criteria for ore occurrence.
3. Select appropriate geological, geochemical, geophysical, remote sensing and GIS techniques for a given exploration target.
4. Integrate multi-disciplinary exploration data to evaluate the economic potential of an ore deposit.
5. Interpret and discuss results from exploration drilling and core logging.
2. Collect, prepare, identify and interpret foraminiferal microfossils for biostratigraphic and paleoenvironmental studies.
Objectifs d'apprentissage:
1. Collect and prepare sediment samples suitable for micropaleontological analysis.
2. Pick and mount foraminifera on slides following standard procedures.
3. Identify major foraminiferal families and key index species using basic taxonomic keys.
4. Use foraminiferal assemblages to infer depositional environments and relative ages.
5. Apply zonation schemes based on foraminifera to geological sections for correlation.
